After creating ripples in the Indian markets, Tata Motors is now planning to launch Nano in Latin America.
This is being planned in partnership with Italian auto maker Fiat.
Fiat has a very strong presence in these countries and also has rights to sell Nano in the international market. Launching the Nano will be a part of this strategic marketing alliance between Fiat and Tata Motors. Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Group, is already a Director at Fiat.
Both the companies are also planning to bring Ferrari and Maserati to the Indian auto market. In India, Tata Motors and Fiat have a 50-50 joint venture to manufacture engines.
Nano has already passed the crash test for European market and has cleared all the safety tests required by European Union .
Tata Motors launched Nano at the Delhi Auto Expo last year and the model hit the Indian roads in July 2009.
The mother plant is still under construction at Sanand near Gujarat and Tata Motors is currently manufacturing Nano at its Pantnagar facility in Uttrakhand.
