Maruti A-Star has three different names!

Williams Shakespeare once quoted ‘What’s in a Name?’ This line is apt for the latest Maruti A-Star car which will feature 3-different logos in the global market. For the first time ever in Automobile history in India, one car will have three different names.

Maruti Suzuki plans on naming it Maruti A-Star for the Indian market, Suzuki Motors will be naming it the New Alto in Europe and a similar car will be brought in with the deal by Maruti for the Nissan Motors which will name it the Pixo.

As per a MSI Spokesperson, “A-Star has nothing to do with Alto, which will continue to be the flagship model of Maruti Suzuki in India. It is a totally different segment.”

The car gets its life at the Maruti Suzuki’s factory at Manesar, Haryana and it gears up to present itself at the Paris Motor Show next month. Both the Alto and the Maruti A-Star will be built on the similar platform and both of them will get their power via Suzuki’s 1L K-series engine. If we had to search for the differences, then the Alto and Pixo will feature extra 4-speed auto-transmission which will be ideal for traffic packed city use.

The architecture and form of the cars remain same, excluding the Pixo which will have a different front and also a different logo. The pricing details and exact availability dates of each of these vehicles are yet to be revealed.
